2008 Election Events
Photos and videos from various presidential election-year events we attended in 2008 — speeches by both Hillary and Obama before the hotly contested Indiana primary, and then two more Obama speeches/rallies in Indianapolis before the general election.
Melinda got to go with us to the Obama speech in Muncie, and Christopher managed to make it to all the events except for one Obama speech.
We were going to go to the Sarah Palin happening at Verizon Music Center but, darn it all, couldn't get tickets.

2007.01 Indiana State Museum
Some photos of our trip to the (relatively) new Indiana State Museum with my parents. It turned out to be a very nice and educational experience. I was glad to see that some of Indiana history's more controversial and/or darker parts weren't glossed over or omitted. It's all here -- information and artifacts on the state that was home to Eugene Debs and Kurt Vonnegut yet that also embraced the Ku Klux Klan and gave birth to the John Birch Society. A state that was named after the dense population of native Americans living here, but that celebrated the general who won the definitive battle against Tecumseh's confederation.
2006.11 - Zimbabwe
Photos of Mark and Christopher's mission/service trip to Zimbabwe in November. Christopher helped teach kids (and teachers) in the computer lab at Hartzell Primary School (part of the Old Mutare United Methodist mission), while Mark helped in an Intensive English class at Africa University for students from Mozambique, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi. (Chronological order starts at the top and ends at the bottom.)

2005.10 Camping
In early October Christopher and I went camping for the weekend at Turkey Run State Park -- which we learned was Indiana's second state park. They have a lot of hiking trails, sandstone caverns, virgin forests, and covered bridges. It was cold but fun.
